The course is specifically designed for people who are looking to gain a career in areas such as promoting, events management, planning and production, venue management and marketing and PR.

Explore the world of branding by learning about the business environment, internet marketing and the importance of research within business in order to ensure your product reaches its target audience.Learn how to plan, organise and run various themed events including Music, Events, Charity, Community, Sports, Corporate and Business. You will learn to secure funding, research and plan to deliver successful and profitable showcases and events.

Age Requirements
All BCE courses are for learners aged 16-18 as of 31 August 2019.

However, if you have a learning difficulty and/or disability with a valid Education and Healthcare Plan, you can study with us up to the age of 25.

Level 3

You will learn how to plan, organise and run various types of events, including music events & showcases, charity & community events and other corporate events. This course will also give you an insight into modern digital marketing tools used to promote events and campaigns including social media, face-book, Instagram and other emerging platforms.

Course entry requirements:

Applicants must have 5 GCSEs at grade C (4)  or above (including English) or equivalent.

Course duration and start date:

The course will begin in September 2019 and lasts for two years

What qualification(s) will I receive?

  • Level 3 SQA Diploma in Live Events & Promotion

Learners with a grade 3/ D in GCSE English and/or Maths will complete a GCSE re-sit alongside their course.

Learners with a grade 2/E or below in English and/or Maths will work towards achieving their Functional Skill qualification alongside their course.

Progression Opportunities

The course is specifically designed for people who are looking to gain a career in areas such as event promotion, events management and marketing and PR. We encourage a minimum two years of study to maximize your experience and portfolio and opportunities to progress to an apprenticeship or university.

Will I receive support throughout my course?

At Big Creative Education, we pride ourselves on offering support to all of our learners throughout their programme.

We have a number of learners who have a range of support needs from specific learning difficulties, or autistic spectrum disorders to mental health conditions, amongst others. If you currently have a valid Education and Health Care Plan or a Learning Difficulty Assessment (LDA), you will be entitled to government funded support from your local authority to ensure we help you achieve the best from your learning.

How will I be taught and assessed?

All of our courses are vocational which means they are designed to compliment learners with a visual and kinaesthetic learning style.

As a result, you will be assessed via a range of both practical and written assignments.

What happens after I submit an Application?

Once you have submitted your application online, you will be contacted via post and email with an interview appointment. Our interview evenings happen on a monthly basis so you will never wait more than 30 days for an appointment.

Your interview is an opportunity for you to showcase and discuss your creative skill set with our industry professional tutors. We actively encourage applicants to attend their interviews with either a portfolio of work (if you have it) or an audition piece (if you’re applying for Music Performance or Performing Arts).

At the end of your interview you will receive a conditional offer for September subject to achieving the entry criteria. This will also be confirmed in writing so you have something to keep as a reminder.
